Esperance de Lagos Silenced Pinhalnovenese Football Club

Story by Elikem Pele Doe

Ghana U23 champ, Edward Sarpong, was in action when his side Esperance de Lagos, put two past their opponent Portuguese in  third tier.

The first goal was scored by George Teixeira in the 25th minute of the first half as he took an excellent first touch away from his marker to curl the ball into the lower left side of the goal post. Esperance came close to scoring but the defence of the away team proved strong.

Ghanaian international Edward Sarpong struck the wood work from a decent free kick 34 yards away from goal. In the 50th minute, Belo made it two after he pounded on a lose ball effected from a corner kick.

Sarpong lasted the entire duration of the game and is looking forward to maintain and continue his fine and spectacular form throughout the season.
