SLAIN, SOUGHT AND SAVED

Slain, Sought and Saved cover art.

Burying the past isn’t easy
I never really liked the thrill of the uncertain
But I taught myself to cope with life’s rich fountain
I never really liked the feeling of being fakely greasy
But the race we run was never meant for the loose and messy
So I killed my soul, hoping to be reborn, more fit for the scheme

The present isn’t friendly either
Different perspectives have made me feel and hear the veiled
But it was as a trade, with half my sight availed
The more I hear and feel, the more I grow unfamiliar and frustrating
It was amazing, then amusing, and now suffocating
So I sought my soul, but he was now weak and unfeeling

The future is too ethereal a concept
But it’s all I strive for
Sometimes I create a world where I and it are one and more
The past as a blueprint and the present as a workbench
We seek to create an escape from this chaotic sea, a peaceful shore
A pure soul to save me from loneliness and self destruction
