The University of Cape Coast has joined sister University, the University of Ghana, Legon in suspending lectures and other activities until further notice. This is in response to the fast spread of Ghana’s Coronavirus cases from two to six in 2 days.
Meanwhile, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology has been reluctant in suspending the imminent midsem exams as well as lectures despite the pressure being mounted by students on the administration.
The KNUST SRC is holding an emergency meeting today to discuss the way forward. The SRC Parliamentary council is also tabled to meet the Dean Of Students today while the University Relations Officer calls om students to calm down.
“There’s a strong team monitoring developments on COVID-19 spread and will advise management accordingly. I urge all to remain calm. We have not gotten to the stage necessary to warrant a complete shutdown. We are in this together, be strong”, he said
