TTAG Removes National President Over Misconduct

President of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG), Augustine Appiah, has been removed from office over what has been described as misconduct in the discharge of his duties.

Sacked President

According to the association, Mr. Appiah, since assumption of office has been acting in clear violation of the association’s constitution; and has brought its name into public ridicule.

Albert Dunoo, who was Vice President but now Acting President of the association confirmed this last Friday in an interview on A1 Radio’s Reporters Visit program.

He noted that the decision to remove Mr. Appiah from office was affirmed by the highest decision making body of the association (Congress).

He said the sacked President among other things has been cited for solely issuing out important letters to stakeholders without due consultation with the association’s National Secretariat and National Executive Council (NEC).

According to the Acting President, Mr. Appiah on several occasions forged their National Secretary’s signature and the letterhead of the association to issue letters to the police without the consent of the National Secretariat.

“Mr. Appiah forged our National Secretary’s signature and letterhead of the association to write a letter to the police without the consent to prevent congress from happening as against the decision of National Executive Council (NEC).” Mr. Dunoo Narrated.

He continued that “Mr. appiah misled some guests for the 25th Annual Delegates Congress which was scheduled for 18th – 21st, November 2020 at St. Ambrose College of Education that the program has been postponed without the knowledge of National Executive Council (NEC).”

According to the Acting President, Mr. Appiah on several occasions forged their National Secretary’s signature and the letterhead of the association to issue letters to the police without the consent of the National Secretariat.
Mr. Dunoo therefore announced for the information of all teacher trainees, stakeholders and the general public that Augsutine Appiah ceases henceforth to be the president of the Association.
