Presbyterian Church of Ghana gives out food items valued at GHc 3,000.00 to KNUST food Bank

The KNUST Branch of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has donated food items worth GHc 3,000.00 to the KNUST food Bank, an initiative implemented by Ms. Sandra Esinam Sosu-Dees, a Former SRC Women’s Commissioner, to help eradicate extreme hunger and ensure access to food by every needy student on campus.

The Donated items included noodles, five bags of Cindy rice, two cartons of milo, three cartons of Lotus mackerel, two cartons of oil, a carton of Nido, a carton of sardines and boxes of sugar.

According to Mr. J.W  Fynn the Catechist of the Church,  the donated items will benefit students who are in dire need of the food items.

The Vice Dean of Students, Prof. Okyere Addai-Mensah, who received the donated items, thanked the Church on behalf of the University Management for taking such a bold step to help needy students.

He went on to indicate that there are about 4,300 brilliant but needy students who find it difficult to afford one square meal on campus.

Prof. Addai-Mensah added that the kind gesture was timely and encouraged other institutions to support by donating food items and cash to the KNUST food Bank.
