COVID-19: UDS Ask Staff To Proceed On Leave

A circular dated 23rd March, 2020, signed by the Registrar Dr A. B. T Zakariah of the University for Development Studies has asked the staff of the University to go on leave in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In furtherance of the directive of the President of Ghana, Nana Addo on the closure of universities as part of measures to counter the COVID-19 Pandemic and the directive of the Executive Committee of the Academic Board, Management of the University at it’s meeting on Monday, March 23, 2020, decided as follows

1. All staff, including National Service Personnel, should go on leave starting from Tuesday, March 24, 2020 and ending on Tuesday, April 14,2020, Staff will resume work on Wednesday, April 15, 2020.

2. The office of the Registrar, Directorate of finance, Directorate of WPD, Directorate of internal audit, Directorate of estates, Directorate of ICT and Directorate of procurement, are to keep only skeletal staff to provide essential services.

3. Staff of the Directorate of University Health Services and the University Security section are to remain at post and continue to provide services. They can take their leave when the situation normalises.

Management of the University urges all of their staff to comply with the directives.
