COVID-19: UDS Supports Ya-Naa

The University for Development Studies, in pursuance of its resolve to help crash the COVID -19 virus has partnered the Overlord of Dagbon, His Royal Majesty, Ya-Naa Abubakari Mahama I, in his efforts to fight the deadly disease.

A Team led by the Pro -Vice – Chancellor, Ing. Prof. Felix K. Abagale visited the King at the Gbewa Palace in Yendi, on Saturday, 12th April 2020 where the University made a donation of twenty (20) gallons of liquid soap, six (6) gallons of hand sanitizers (produced by the Pharmacy Department of UDS) and five (5) sets of veronica buckets
Making the donation on behalf of University Management, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor noted that fighting the corona virus (COVID-19) was a collective responsibility, hence the donation.
King’s Delight
His Majesty the King of Dagbon was delighted at the kind gesture extended to him and his people. He seize the opportunity to appeal to University Management to expedite action on the establishment of a campus in Yendi. The King reiterated his unflinching support for the project and promised to liaise with relevant authorities to acquire temporal structures to enable UDS to kick start the Yendi Campus.
In response, Ing. Prof. Abagale assured the Overload and his elders that University Management had not relented in its efforts to set up the Yendi Campus, as steps were being taken to put up the requisite infrastructure on the site. He indicated that the temporal structure promised by the Ya-Naa resonated with the humble beginnings of UDS (which started with borrowed facilities in Tamale and Wa).
